• For the summer to come we are planning to present a small but serious exhibition about our first 25 years in Herräng. One of our teachers for this year, Ewa Staremo-Burak, has volunteered to lead the project and beside many other things she is at this moment very interested to find photos taken at the camp during various years. If you have access to amateur pictures and want to contribute, please feel free to send them over the internet or in the ordinary mail. In both cases if possible, please provide available information such as who is in the picture, where it is taken, what year et cetera. Ordinary mailed pictures can very well be in small formats and if you want they will be returned to you after use.

• A few weeks ago above mentioned Ewa Staremo-Burak (who for many years was one of the organizers of the event) gave us a suggestion concerning an idea that she labelled Kids Corner. The short version of the story is that we should try to host some activities for kids (2-10 years old) every day of the camp. These activities should last for maybe an hour per day and could include dancing, music games, paint to music, build instruments et cetera. To make this happen we need to find out whether there is an interest or not and also, we need to find people both interested to be in charge for the different weeks as well as people interested to arrange day activities for the kids. Ewa herself has volunteered to be in charge for week 4 so that week is already kind of taken care of. If you are interested to help out or have ideas in general, please get in touch with our office in Stockholm.

• Some minor changes have been made on the teachers list compared to what is written in our brochure. For updated information, please always check our website under CAMP INFORMATION – CLASSES AND PROGRAMS – SCHEDULES.

• If you are a beginner in Lindy Hop and are interested to come to Herräng, there are several options to choose between. If you want to spend an entire week at the camp, the only natural choice is week 1; if you prefer to spend a weekend (with possibility to prolong into a full week) at the camp there are several alternatives because all weekends in between the ordinary week programs offer classes for beginners. For further information, please check on our webpage under CAMP INFORMATION – CLASSES AND PROGRAMS – SCHEDULES (for weekends for beginners you have to scroll down quite a bit).

• Some people have asked us what this year’s Friday night parties are all about. Compared to previous years they might look fairly peaceful the way they appear in our brochure or on our website. No eccentric themes to bring special costumes to and no worries in general. However, even though all five Fridays basically carry the same theme (25 years of the Herräng Dance Camp) they will all come with an additional second theme within the major one. These additional themes will not be officially announced, instead they will become a surprise once in Herräng. None of them will however touch masquerades, instead all of them will speak more in terms of elegance, glamour and extravagant glittery.

• We are still in need of more volunteers to fill different kind of positions during the camp. If you are interested in such a position, please get in touch with our volunteer co-ordinator Eddie Salgado (volunteers@herrang.com) sooner rather than later.

• Our supply of private accommodation in Herräng is being booked faster then ever in the history of the camp. If you know that you are coming to Herräng and are in need of private housing, please get in touch with our office in Stockholm as soon as you have your details ready.
