Cathy is dancing since she is 7 (classical, jazz…)

Gilbert is a singer and a guitarist since his earliest childhood. He doesn’t need music to assure his classes. You’ll dance Acapella and in an original version.

Cathy & Gilbert, couple in life and in dance, started couple dances in 1989, (Rock’n roll, sporting Dances, Tap dance, Cuban Salsa).
They are dancing Lindy Hop since 1994.

They trained with the biggest names: Frankie Manning, Rob & Diane Van Haaren, Eddie & Eva Jansson, Ryan & Jenny François, Steven Mitchell, Julie Oram, and many others…

They are the origin of the biggest Swing Dance Festival of Montpellier’s area: “Lindy Hop on the Beach”, wich is every year in June since 1997. They contribute to Lindy Hop, Balboa and Collegiate Shag’s expansion all around France, Europe, (Barcelona, Brussels, London, Gloucester, Edinburgh), USA (San Francisco) and for the second time in Sweden at Herrang Dance Camp.

They created their own dance school “Swing Cat Cie” in October 2001. Cathy & Gilbert are Swing dance’s specialists (Lindy Hop, Balboa, Bal-Swing, and Charleston) in Montpellier, South of France.

With more than 10 years experiences, threw the quality of their teaching based on technicality, musicality, and improvisation, they will give you their enthusiasm and passion about dance. Cathy & Gilbert assure their couple dance’s classes together with a pedagogy based on their complicity and complementarity. They attach a huge importance to the music, to the social, cultural and convivial aspect of those dances.

Their motto: It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing!
